Our History
The Corrections Transition Program (CTP) was established in 1997 by Dr. Regina B. Shearn and Marta Villacorta to address the challenges faced by long-term offenders preparing for parole and reintegration into society.
The Program welcomed its first group of inmates in December 1996. Beginning in 2001, the Florida Parole Commission assumed
The Corrections Transition Program (CTP) was established in 1997 by Dr. Regina B. Shearn and Marta Villacorta to address the challenges faced by long-term offenders preparing for parole and reintegration into society.
The Program welcomed its first group of inmates in December 1996. Beginning in 2001, the Florida Parole Commission assumed responsibility for selecting eligible offenders for placement in the CTP.
Since its inception, the CTP has remained dedicated to preparing long-term offenders for successful community reintegration through education, meaningful dialogue, personal development, and practical reentry skills.
